NEW YEAR--NEW PAGE.......

Its that timeof the year again for making new resolutions .  Are you ready?

What is the defination of 'Resolution'?

According to the Cambridge Dictionary, a New Year's resolution is a promise a person makes to either start doing something good or stop doing something bad.  The change in behaviour is to begin on January 1 of a given year.

However, some historians believe New Year's resulutions originated with the King Janus of Rome, a mythical monarch who had a face in the front and back of his head, enabling him to see forward and backward in time.

I  have compiled my own personal and business resolution for the year 2011.  Some of my resolutions include reading the entire Bible from January 1st to December 31st, 2011.  I also intend keeping my daily "To Do List" WITHOUT FAIL.  Its a resolution I started mid year in 2010 and it has, within these six months, proved to be very helpful, empowering and provided the much needed clarity.  In other words, it has enabled me to be in total charge of my daily tasks.  I have been able to evaluate my list at the end of each day.  Its not like I didn't know the importance of keeping a daily list of To Do Things, the main problem has been failure to implement my own list.
The late Jim Rohn, who was a Business Philosopher , used to say,  "We've heard the expression, An apple a day keeps the doctor away. 'Well, I've got a good question for you:  What if it's true?  Wouldn't that be easy to do- to eat an apple a day?  Here's the problem:  IT's also easy not to do."

I encourage readers to take time to make and write resolutions for the year.  Resolutions work--.  Did you know that, 40-45% of people make resolutions each year?  The most common and popular resolutions are weight loss, going to the gym and giving up smoking.   Its reported that of these who make resolutions, 75% are faithful for a week, 64% maintain it for a month and about 46% go beyond six months, which means half
implement their resolutions for more than six months.

The above observation is indeed encouraging and inspite of some failing to implement own resolutions, research shows that making annual resolutions is challenging and useful.  In actual fact you are ten times more likely to  attain your goals if you make that resolution than if you don't.  That said, dont you think it is better to have annual goals than not having them.  Life is what you make it, go ahead and make plans for the coming year, and see what will happen.  Forget past failures, open a new page and make up your mind to write and follow through your resolution.

I challenge you to act now, act today for your sake.

God bless you and yours.

ACT TODAY: NEVER AGAIN

NEVER AGAIN

Numerous books have been written on the subject of motivation.  Motivation works.  It has taken a lot of  motivating to be where I am today.  However, most people seem unaware that the best and ultimate source of motivational teaching yesterday, today and tomorrow is ...the Bible.  Who could authoritatively teach us more about motivation than the Creator GOD Himself.  God is the ultimate motivator.  With that said, may the following motivational principles inspire you to believe in your God given power and may these empower you to meet and overcome all the challenges you will come across during your 2011 journey:

NEVER AGAIN will I confess I can't, for "I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me" (Philippians 4:13).

NEVER AGAIN will I confess lack, for "My God shall supply all of my need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus "(Philippians 4:19).

NEVER AGAIN will I confess fear, for" God hath not given me the spirit of fear, but of power and of love, and of a sound mind" (Tim 1:17)

NEVER AGAIN will I confess doubt and lack of faith, for "God hath given to every man the measure of faith". (Rom 12:3)

NEVER AGAIN will I confess weakness, for "The Lord is the strength of my life" Psalm 27:1) and "The people that know their God shall be strong and do exploits" (Daniel 11:32)

NEVER AGAIN will I confess supremacy of Satan over my life, for "Greater is he that is within me than he that is in the world" (1 John 4:4).

NEVER AGAIN will I confess defeat, for "God always causeth me to triumph in Christ Jesus" (2 Cor 2:14).

NEVER AGAIN will I confess lack of wisdom, for "Christ Jesus is made unto me wisdom from God" (1 Corinthians 1:30).

NEVER AGAIN will I confess sickness for "With his stripes I am healed" (Isaiah 53:5), and Jesus "Himself took my infirmities and bare my sicknesses" (Matthew 8:17).

NEVER AGAIN will I confess worries and frustrations, for I am "Casting all my cares upon Him who careth for me" (1 Peter 5:7) In Christ I am 'care-free!'

NEVER AGAIN will I confess bondage, for "Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty" (2 Corinthians 3:17) My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit!

NEVER AGAIN will I confess comdemnation, for 'There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:1).  I am in Christ; therefore, I am free from condemnation.

FEAR PREVENTS PEOPLE FROM BECOMING MORE

We all come into this world in the same way.  No child is born a nurse , teacher, sweeper, driver golfer or chief executive.  We have to do certain things right to become what we want to be.   The Creator in His wisdom made sure that all humans start from the same point, same level.   God did not bring you into this world to do nothing,  and He also did not create some people useful and some useless.  We are all here for a purpose.  However, the question which begs an answer is , How is it that some people become successful while others come to the end of life without having achieved much or anything at all.

FEAR IS OUR GREATEST ENEMY
It is said that we are all born with only two fears:  the fear of following and the fear of loud noises.  What about other fears....where do they originate from?   one can safely conclude that ALL other fears must be learned. It does not take a rocket scientist to know that FEAR is the most debilitating and destructive force on the planet.  Fear causes self-doubt, a state were one does not believe in his/her own abilty to achieve anything worthwhile.  Fear is a crippler, it destroys desires, it weakens motivation...it wispers to you that you can't make things happen in your life.  In the presence of fear, enthusiasm disappears.  Fear is a paralyser.  When fear takes root in your life, it rules your affairs with an iron grip...it robs you of love, joy, peace and creativity.  Fear lowers your confidence, it crushes all dreams , hopes, ambitions and promotes discord, petty jealous, self doubt, discouragments.  Fear brings feelings of inadequacy, insecurity and ultimately FAILURE.

Fearfulness is a horrible thing to live with.  A fearful person is always blaming someone or something for his/her lack of success in life.  Fearful people can't take ACTION TODAY, they procrastinate because of their fear of failure.  Fear takes all power, energy and initiative from them.  I know what I am talking about, I have been there, done that.   My life started to change when I discovered that time was passing me by and I had to get rid of the needless fear and take charge of my life.  Since I made the decision to confront my fears and expose them for what they are, what a huge difference it made on my outlook on life!

Dr William James, the father of American psychology, once made this statement:  "YOUR BELIEF AT THE BEGINNING OF ANY PROJECT DETERMINES ITS OUTCOME". WOW! how true.  It has been proven  beyond any doubt that the major reason people do not get the results they deserve in their lives, is FEAR.  When you are afraid, you will somehow expect to fail....Dr James was the first to identify this as the Law of Self-Fulfilling Prophecy.  "Be careful of what you expect, because you are probably going to get it!'

SOME OF THE WAYS TO OVERCOME YOUR FEARS
Confront your fear, strip it naked layer by layer and you will find there was nothing there to fear!
Picture what your life would be like when you actualize your goals.
Read books with stories of people who have conquered what you are currently struggling with.
Feel the Fear, and  Do IT ANYWAY!

Finally, take ACTION TODAY to start winning your battle against fear.

ACTION TAKER

I have lived long enough to know without an shadow of doubt that ....nothing will ever change in life in the absence of action.  You may know what you want, what you are passionate about but this will not bring results.   Successful people are successful because they started by deciding what they want out of life, visualised what life will be like achieving that goal, and then they took action 'massive action until untill something happened.

Life rewards action takers, we all know that talent is good and we all are blessed with it, we all want knowledge because its a good thing to have, however, knowledge not applied is not good to the one in possession of it and to the generality of the people.  Its true that knowledge is power but only when its put to use.

The reason why some people seem to do well in life better than others is not their backgounds, education, dreams or goals..NO, NO NO, its the actions that they have taken in their lives.  Knowing what you want will not put food on the table.

One of the reason why some people fail to act is self-doubt and fear, I am not going to dwell very much on what causes fear in this article but I will do so in the next one.  What I can only say is...face what you are afraid of and see what happens, one thing I can assure you is that in my years on this planet earth no one has yet been killed by taking action .  The other thing you should do take action is to start your project with the end result in mind.  Just picture yourself being able to live in that dream house, driving that dream car and being able to live that lifstyle a lot of people only dream about.

I hope this small article will galvanise you into action.

Know What You Want And Take Massive Action. PerioD!
