THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF MOTIVATIONAL QUOTES

Motivation is the driving force which causes us to achieve goals.  Motivation is said to be intrinsic or extrinsic.  The term is generally used to describe the causes for animal behavior as well.   According to various theories, motivation may be rooted in a basic need to minimize physical pain and maximize pleasure, or it may include specific needs such as eating and resting, or a desired object, goal, state of being, ideal, or it may be attributed to less apparent reasons such as altruism, selfishness, morality or avoiding mortality......Wikipedia.

As we start our 2011 journey, I would like to share some of my favorite motivational  quotes which I  have adapted to use as I work on my various business and personal goals. For a success -seeking individual,  inspirational quotes are as fuel is to a rocket propelling one to a new world of possibilities.

I have made my personal remarks/thoughts after each quote. Enjoy!

QUOTE NO. 1
Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained!
If you don't take some calculated risks in life, your life will remain at the same place.  Dreaming without acting  is no good to anyone .
QUOTE NO. 2
"You will pay the price if you believe the promise". - Jim Rohn
What is it that you want?

How bad do you want it?Do you believe your life will change when you realise your dream/s?
If your answer is in the positive, you will do whatever it takes to achieve your goal.

QUOTE NO. 3
The man who seeks one thing in life and but one
May hope to achieve it before life is done;
But he who seeks all things, whereever he goes
Only reaps from the hopes which around him he sows
A harvest of barren regrets. ---Robert Bulwer-Lytton.

We fail to reach our goals because of not focusing on that one thing we want.
QUOTE NO. 4
"I will study and get ready, and perhaps my chance will come." --Abraham Lincoln.
Whatever situation you are in right now, I urge you to expand your knowledge by reading and attending motivational seminars and learning from those who have already walked the road and reached their destination.

QUOTE NO. 5
Its not over until its over!
You will never reach your destination if you don't stick to the plan.  Don't quit, hang in their until things happen.

QUOTE NO. 6
"You don't have to be great to get started, but you have to get started to be great."  Les Brown.
You can not expect results if you never take the first step.  Successful people are successful because of the actions they took.

QUOTE NO. 7
"The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step".  Lao-Tzu.
The major thing is to make the first step, once you do that the next step follows naturally.  What do you want to do? Just plan and go for it. Period.

QUOTE NO. 8
Carl Bard once said..."Though no one can go back and make a brand-new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand-new ending."
Never allow your age to  prevent you from starting and persuing a new project.  As long as you enjoy good health go ahead and do something and see what happens.

QUOTE NO. 9
Pay the price...There is no success without sacrifice.  If we succeed without sacrifice, it is because someone who went before us paid the price.  If you sacrifice and don't see success, then someone who follows will reap success.  This statement was made by my mentor John C. Maxwell, who is a leadership expert, speaker, author and founder of EQUIP, a nonprofit organisation that has trained more than 5 million leaders in 126 countries worldwide.

QUOTE NO. 10
Wisdom is the principal thing;
Therefore get wisdom.
AND IN ALL YOUR GETTING, GET UNDERSTANDING.
Proverbs 4:7
Education and riches are good things to have but the most important thing is to seek wisdom to be able to manage our affairs better.

Whatever you would like to do, don't delay, do it today!

NEW YEAR--NEW PAGE.......

Its that timeof the year again for making new resolutions .  Are you ready?

What is the defination of 'Resolution'?

According to the Cambridge Dictionary, a New Year's resolution is a promise a person makes to either start doing something good or stop doing something bad.  The change in behaviour is to begin on January 1 of a given year.

However, some historians believe New Year's resulutions originated with the King Janus of Rome, a mythical monarch who had a face in the front and back of his head, enabling him to see forward and backward in time.

I  have compiled my own personal and business resolution for the year 2011.  Some of my resolutions include reading the entire Bible from January 1st to December 31st, 2011.  I also intend keeping my daily "To Do List" WITHOUT FAIL.  Its a resolution I started mid year in 2010 and it has, within these six months, proved to be very helpful, empowering and provided the much needed clarity.  In other words, it has enabled me to be in total charge of my daily tasks.  I have been able to evaluate my list at the end of each day.  Its not like I didn't know the importance of keeping a daily list of To Do Things, the main problem has been failure to implement my own list.
The late Jim Rohn, who was a Business Philosopher , used to say,  "We've heard the expression, An apple a day keeps the doctor away. 'Well, I've got a good question for you:  What if it's true?  Wouldn't that be easy to do- to eat an apple a day?  Here's the problem:  IT's also easy not to do."

I encourage readers to take time to make and write resolutions for the year.  Resolutions work--.  Did you know that, 40-45% of people make resolutions each year?  The most common and popular resolutions are weight loss, going to the gym and giving up smoking.   Its reported that of these who make resolutions, 75% are faithful for a week, 64% maintain it for a month and about 46% go beyond six months, which means half
implement their resolutions for more than six months.

The above observation is indeed encouraging and inspite of some failing to implement own resolutions, research shows that making annual resolutions is challenging and useful.  In actual fact you are ten times more likely to  attain your goals if you make that resolution than if you don't.  That said, dont you think it is better to have annual goals than not having them.  Life is what you make it, go ahead and make plans for the coming year, and see what will happen.  Forget past failures, open a new page and make up your mind to write and follow through your resolution.

I challenge you to act now, act today for your sake.

God bless you and yours.

ACT TODAY: NEVER AGAIN

NEVER AGAIN

Numerous books have been written on the subject of motivation.  Motivation works.  It has taken a lot of  motivating to be where I am today.  However, most people seem unaware that the best and ultimate source of motivational teaching yesterday, today and tomorrow is ...the Bible.  Who could authoritatively teach us more about motivation than the Creator GOD Himself.  God is the ultimate motivator.  With that said, may the following motivational principles inspire you to believe in your God given power and may these empower you to meet and overcome all the challenges you will come across during your 2011 journey:

NEVER AGAIN will I confess I can't, for "I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me" (Philippians 4:13).

NEVER AGAIN will I confess lack, for "My God shall supply all of my need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus "(Philippians 4:19).

NEVER AGAIN will I confess fear, for" God hath not given me the spirit of fear, but of power and of love, and of a sound mind" (Tim 1:17)

NEVER AGAIN will I confess doubt and lack of faith, for "God hath given to every man the measure of faith". (Rom 12:3)

NEVER AGAIN will I confess weakness, for "The Lord is the strength of my life" Psalm 27:1) and "The people that know their God shall be strong and do exploits" (Daniel 11:32)

NEVER AGAIN will I confess supremacy of Satan over my life, for "Greater is he that is within me than he that is in the world" (1 John 4:4).

NEVER AGAIN will I confess defeat, for "God always causeth me to triumph in Christ Jesus" (2 Cor 2:14).

NEVER AGAIN will I confess lack of wisdom, for "Christ Jesus is made unto me wisdom from God" (1 Corinthians 1:30).

NEVER AGAIN will I confess sickness for "With his stripes I am healed" (Isaiah 53:5), and Jesus "Himself took my infirmities and bare my sicknesses" (Matthew 8:17).

NEVER AGAIN will I confess worries and frustrations, for I am "Casting all my cares upon Him who careth for me" (1 Peter 5:7) In Christ I am 'care-free!'

NEVER AGAIN will I confess bondage, for "Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty" (2 Corinthians 3:17) My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit!

NEVER AGAIN will I confess comdemnation, for 'There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:1).  I am in Christ; therefore, I am free from condemnation.
